PERMISSION: The Debauchery Book is a photographic anthology documenting 20 years of a celebration of sensuality, liberation and consent from a Black cultural lens known as “The Debauchery Ball.” It is the story of a healing space created so that African descendants of all walks could exercise their joy, creativity and a sensual freedom in a protected space often denied to them, demonized and/or marginalized in dominant society. It is done in a way that recognizes the wholeness, adventurousness, and beauty of melanated people as seen through the thoughtful lenses of seven photographers, one digital artist, and editors Jeneca Onikoyi and Khari B.

PERMISSION brings together essays, poems, photographs, quotes, conversations and first-person stories to breakdown this revolutionary experience by the people who have been a part over the last 20 years.
